Directions for Admission to Private Medical College

The Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME) will release a circular for admis-sion to private medical colleges once admission to government medical colleges have been completed up to the second waiting list.

Interested candidates must apply online through Teletalk Bangladesh Ltd. And pay a fee of Tk.1,000. During the application process, candidates must select their preferred private medical colleges from a list of government approved options provided online.

After submitting their online application, candidates will receive an SMS informing them which private medical colleges they have been selected for, based on their merit positionand preferences. The list of selected candidates for each college will also be published on the website.

In order to apply for the meritorious and poor quota in private medical colleges, candidates must provide all necessary information during the application process. Applicants who apply under this quota will only be considered for seats in the meritorious and poor quota, and cannot apply for the general quota. It is important to note that application form will be rejected if the documentary proof of insolvency is found to be false or incorrect. Private medical colleges reserve 5% of their seats for meritorious and poor students.

If a private medical college violates the MBBS student admission law issued by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council, their approval to operate will be cancelled. It is not permitted to admit domestic or foreign students in excess of the approved seats or outside of the admission process as described in the policy.

If any information provided during the admission process of a domestic or foreign student to a private medical college is found false or incorrect, their admission will be immediately
cancelled, and disciplinary action will be taken against them in accordance with the law.

Foreign Students :

Foreign students have to submit permission from their respective government.

Documents needed:
The following documents and certificates must be attached with an application. Photocopies must be duly attested by a Class-I gazetted officer:

A) Certificates of passing SSC and HSC or equivalent examinations and testimonials (Candidate who have passed "O" level and "A" level examination must produce equivalence certificate from the Director Medical Education & HMPD, Directorate General of Health Services, Mohakhali, Dhaka-1212).

B) Mark-sheets of SSC and HSC or equivalent examinations.

C) Certificate from the Head of the Institution where the applicant has studied last about his/her character, academic records and extracurricular activities.

D) Certificate of character from a Class-I gazetted officer.

E) Nationality certificate. Result of the Govt. Admission Test.

F) 6 (six) copies of recent passport-size photographs with their names written on the back.

G) Receipt of the payment of registration fees for admission.

H) Certificate of financial solvency of the parent / guardian of the candidate.

I) Original copies of the above documents must be produced at the time of admission.

J) Offsprings of Freedom Fighter, must produce original certificate as evidence of the Freedom Fighter as per Government rules.

Lists of the candidates selected, the dates of Medical check-up and payments of admission fees etc. will be duly notified in the College Notice Board. All applicants provisionally selected for admission shall be medically examined by a medical board and must be declared fit before admission.
